Understanding Closing Day and What to Expect as a Buyer

Closing day is the moment your new home officially becomes yours, but there is a lot happening behind the scenes leading up to that final step. Your lawyer coordinates the transfer of funds, registers the property in your name, reviews adjustments such as taxes and utilities, and confirms that all documents are accurate. Buyers do not always see this work, but it is a critical part of the process.

On closing day, you typically receive confirmation once the registration is complete, and keys are released shortly after. Sometimes small delays can occur due to bank processing times or document verification, which is normal. Going into closing day with realistic expectations can help reduce stress and make the experience smoother.

If you are preparing to buy and want a clearer understanding of what happens between offer acceptance and key handover, I would be glad to walk you through it so you feel prepared every step of the way.
